More than 700 people from the Dutch network, between elite athlete students, managers and young professionals, pool their vision on education and development to train the next leaders in sports management
With an eye on the forthcoming 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro and under the slogan ‘The road to Rio: managing success and failure’, the Johan Cruyff Institute gathered more than 700 people at the ninth edition of the Cruyff Forum in Holland. Every two years this event brings together under one roof students, alumni, elite athletes, sports managers and young professionals with a common goal: to become the next generation of leaders in sports management.
“We greatly value the opinion of our students. They each have their own vision of sport and sports management. We are delighted to give them the opportunity to express their views on the Games in Rio,” says Henk Verschuur, manager of the Johan Cruyff Institute in Amsterdam.
Some students of the Master in Sports Management in Amsterdam are convinced that the success of Rio 2016 should not only come from the sports results, but also from an effective organization. Another topic of discussion addressed at the Forum was how to manage success and failure, according to the personal experiences of athletes who are continuing their studies at the Johan Cruyff Academy, at the Johan Cruyff College and at the Johan Cruyff Institute.
